Happy Haven Homes, Inc., is licensed by the state of Tennessee as a residential child care agency and is a 501(c)(3) organization. Happy Haven does not receive state funding. This Christian group home is sponsored and supported by churches of Christ, other individuals and businesses. Happy Haven provides a safe, supportive environment for children in need (ages 5-17).
Happy Haven accepts referrals of children from families, guardians, community members, or the department of children’s services. The child may be referred due to a background of abuse, neglect, abandonment, unruliness, emotional issues, communication problems, academic difficulties, or interpersonal conflicts. We provide love, security, and guidance to help them graduate high school and to transition toward adulthood.
As a “faith-based” residential care facility, we provide care in a structured, Christian environment. A child is assigned to a home with house parents, who love and care for children in this setting. This home atmosphere is designed where each person is important, where everyone accepts responsibility for their actions, and where people work together as a unit. The children attend church services with the house parents and they attend public school. We also provide the children with counseling, tutoring, and youth activities.
